The Manager of Public Relations and Social Media is responsible for working with senior account leaders and partners to deliver Public Relations and Social Media projects of outstanding quality, on time and on budget. These projects may involve media relations, experiential productions, and social media for national or regional clients, or some broader marketing responsibilities for regional clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute PR campaigns:
  • Deliver and manage successful PR, social, and experiential campaigns.
  • Contribute to the development of successful PR (including social media and experiential) strategies.
  • Conduct research on competitive and media landscapes.
  • Develop and maintain media lists and editorial calendars required for successful campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain experiential planning materials for PR campaigns including workbacks, budgets, show documents, and vendor relationships.
  • Create and manage PR materials such as pitches, press releases, media alerts and calendar listings.
  • Work with media to garner positive media coverage for clients.
  • Develop social media posts.
  • Execute community management as directed.
  • Be responsible for successful media and social media monitoring, tracking and reporting.
  • Project-manage details and logistics from start to finish.
  • Provide clear and actionable information and recommendations related to projects to team members, clients and third-party partners.
  • Work day-to-day with clients to become a trusted conduit of information and advisor.
  • Maintain focus on keeping our commitments regarding quality, time and budget.

Contribute to marketing strategy and tactics:

  • Contribute to developing and delivering successful campaigns that may involve more aspects than just PR.
  • Develop knowledge of each area of agency expertise and AMP’s strategic methodology.
  • Contribute to campaigns through strategy development and project management as needed.

Essential skills include:

Project Management:

  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and apply resources effectively with high attention to detail in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Communication:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas effectively and communicate with clients, vendors, press, and others on the phone, via email and in person.
  • Excellent fact-based and creative writing skills for PR materials and social posts.
  • Master with proper grammar/spelling/punctuation.

Accountability and initiative:

  • Great work ethic and self-starter.
  • Willing to provide assistance whenever and wherever needed.
  • Ability to deliver work on time and as promised.
  • Willing and available for occasional weekday travel and evening and/or weekend work as necessary.

Knowledge of PR, Social Media, Experiential, and Marketing theory and practice:

  • Demonstrate an interest in, and growing knowledge of PR, experiential and social media fundamentals.
  • Stay up to date with important trends in the PR/experiential/marketing/social media landscape.
  • Expand knowledge of client's business and competitive landscape.
  • Proficiency with social media channels, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and more.
  • Proficiency with PR tools such as AP Style Guide, Cision, TVEyes and Sysomos is a plus.

You must have 3-5 years of related experience to qualify for this position. Agency experience preferred.
