We are looking for a Group Director, National Video Activation to join our growing media practice, either in Boston or New York.  The Group Director, National Video Activation will lead the investment strategy and negotiations for video (both network and cross-platform video) for key clients while helping to define and develop AMP’s growing cross-channel video practice. This person will also be responsible for cultivating strong relationships with partners across multiple platforms to achieve client marketing objectives and goals including delivering media savings through strategic negotiations.

They will be responsible for optimizing our video plans based on sales readouts and other measurement infrastructure, recommending test and learn agendas for national video, and helping develop the agency’s approach to addressable TV. They will also collaborate with internal media team members to coordinate offline and online media weights to drive optimal performance.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Leadership on TV & Video initiatives across entire AMP Media Portfolio
  • Lead Upfront and Scatter Video Negotiations on Broadcast Network, Syndication and Cable
  • Negotiate Broadcast and Puerto Rico TV
  • Manage video billings across all assigned clients, including budget forecasting and savings projections
  • Maintain legacy deals for clients based on historical and forecasted investment
  • Negotiate and manage quarterly brand allocation for Unwired Cable, Hispanic, Syndication, Unwired Broadcast and Puerto Rico TV  
  • Lead Video Cost planning and audience research
  • Directly manage a team including a local investments manager, video buyers and assistants
  • Develop integrated video strategy across all assigned clients
  • Oversee annual digital video negotiations with site direct partners, VOD partners & full episode players
  • Collaborate with planning team and media innovation group on growth and development of agencies addressable TV approach
  • Support the larger strategy and approach of AMP’s cross-channel video offering including market positioning
  • Partner with analytics and planning teams on development of holistic video measurement approach
  • Participate in integrated planning sessions
  • Collaborate with digital media specialists to coordinate strategic media flighting
  • Coordinate with social media, search and content personnel on updated TV schedules to align investment with amplification opportunities
  • Meet regularly with TV, and direct digital video partners
  • Meet regularly with vendors to cultivate relationships, and stay current on programming and marketplace trends
  • Approve, and be accountable for, all media invoices
  • Resolve billing discrepancies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts
  • Extensive National TV Buying experience across all dayparts, network, cable, syndication and unwired
  • Strong relationships within Advertising Sales community
  • Strong negotiation experience with network and cable sports partners Local broadcast experience preferred
  • Quantitative and budget management skills
  • Experience in data driven buying
  • Knowledge of media research tools, i.e. Nielsen, Rentrak, Simmons
  • Digital video buying experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Digital Media Buying formats a plus
  • Microsoft Office, strong Excel Skills
  • Experience working in Strata
  • Knowledge of Spanish a plus, but not required
